Mother either Maud RYAN or Lena ELVEY according to his 2 marriage certificates. Born in Sydney,Aus, but not proven. Father Charles William COOPER born Yorkshire, but not proven. Left home c1902, aged 16 years, no contact with family from then on. Named his 2 daughters Lavenia and Rita after his sisters. Have not found sisters' names and parents to match in U.K. censuses, have not found their births in Aus either. Please if anybody has any info to help me, I would REALLY appreciate it!

however the father in the family you are looking for is charles. either you have the wrong family or that is not your LAVENIA

perhaps you should concentrate on finding his birth cert, NSW BMD
I can only see a birth in 1887 for arthur? charles as father.

More info on these ancestors:
Charles William COOPER from Yorkshire, Boilermaker & Labourer. c1850-1860?? fathered a son Arthur John COOPER 7/4/1886.
Source: Arthur himself. I have found no birth entries to match on the NSW BDM, or the U.K. births . I have been unable to find a death of his supposed parents on the NSW BDM as well!!
Mother: Arthur's first marriage cert (1909) quotes his mother as MAUD RYAN.
His second marr cert (1928) quotes his mother as LENA ELVY.
My Aunt Lavinia wrote to her grandmother MAUD RYAN about the time of WWII, but I don't know where this woman lived. Aunt Lavinia claimed that she was named after her father's (Arthur) sister Lavinia. Likewise, my other aunt Reta, claimed to be named after another sister.
I have not found these 2 siblings living with an Arthur Cooper in a household in U.K. censuses.
Have also looked for a CHARLES COOPER & MAUD RYAN together on the NSW electoral roll early 20th century without success.
I have a complete blank on my grandfather's life from birth 1886 till 1909 with his first marriage. He was very secretive so this is partly why I have this problem.
