Find Ancestors

I wonder if anyone knows of Emily Cunningham, my Grandmother. I never met her and know little about her. My father, Brian Davies, was born in Lancaster in 1934. I have his birth certificate which states his father was George Alfred Davies, general hawker, and his mother was Emily Davies (nee Cunningham). They were living in lodgings in Lancaster. Emily died in July 1937 in Lancaster but her birth was registered as 'Helen' Davies. George was said to be a traveller with the fairs and he abandoned my father in 1939 in Kendal when he was co-habiting with another woman called Clara Lock, with whom he had twin girls, Rhoda & Lena. They would have been my Dad's half-sisters. I don't know what happened to the Locks, but Clara was from Ireland and it is said that she returned there. I would love to find any connection to my Dad's family in Lancashire. Years of searching has come up with nothing, I can't even find a marriage record for them. Hope someone can help. Any Davies's or Cunninghams living in the Lancaster/Kendal area may remember them.
