Trying to find Cunningham

Joan Report 22 Aug 2004 23:23

Trying to trace natural relatives of Greta Margaret Cunningham (related to me by marriage) born Inverkeithing, Fife in 1952. She was adopted by Scottish family living in London but moved to Highlands after marriage. Reason given for adoption was that she was the result of a relationship between her mother, Janet Cunningham, aged 26, of Burnside, Inverkeithing, and a hotel worker named James Flaherty, aged 31, from Plymouth, Devon who was working at a hotel in either Inverkeithing or North Berwick. Janet was one of a family of 15 children and had worked at Masterton Farm, Dunfermline and done hotel work in North Berwick. Apparently, Janet was seriously ill and unable to care for her new baby. Greta is believed to have had a half sister approx. 10yrs older than her (Bessie Cunningham) but no idea if mother or sister are still alive or if there were any other siblings. Any information would be much appreciated.
