there would have been lots of mines in the Merthyr Tydfil area - all now closed of course, other than Tower Colliery which was bought out by Tyrone Sullivan - have you googled for Welsh mines? |

Eileen Swansea University are collecting as many records as they can regarding coal miningin South Wales. It might be worth atry going on the University website and see what records they allready have . Also contact the local Library in Methyr. Most mining areas down here in South Wales had a miners institute paid for by the miners there names and pits they worked at would be recorded. These records may be held in the Library or County Archives. Good hunting Dave. |
