Hi I am trying to find any children born to ARTHUR & TILLEY DAVIES married in 1947 and living in the Carmarthen/Haverfordwest areas of Wales.

There are just too many Davies/Thomas births to narrow it down.

Hi Rose, thanks for reply, that is the problem I have about 200 possible children born up to 6 years after Arthur and Tilly got married. Other than spending thousands on birth certificates I am at a loss to know next move, it could well be they had no children of course.

Death certificates might give a family member's name. With the exact date and place of birth you could search newspaper archives on microfilm at a local library for an obituary, which would certainly name children/grandchildren.

An obituary is the very first thing I think of in this situation. I've found Canadian obituaries on line that have led people here at GR to living family members in Canada, by looking up the family members' names in the obituary in the telephone directory. My father's, for instance, lists his children and grandchildren and children's partners. Is this not actually common practice in the UK??
