I am looking for my gggrandfather who died at sea when my grandmother was very young. He married Ann Clark (scottish) and possibly had 2/3 daughters. He came from Cardigan area but lived in Scotland, Liverpool and I think I found a ship (Isabelle) in Plymouth but not sure if this is the correct man.

You seem to have done very well so far with such a difficult name! How have you managed to find all this out?
Not quite sure what you are after. Are you trying to find him when younger?

Great, I hope to go there some day to look at the places and maybe find more. I am trying to find where he died but all I know it was at sea and nothing so far has come up. Not sure of what ship but think it was coming from California round Cape Horn to UK with grain or similar about 1885 - 1891 when it sank.

I have a similar problem in that one of my guys died at sea..I know all I need to know bar the GRO reference and this is where I may be able to help you ...the DirectGov website directs you to regional centres for deaths at sea..there are 7 around the UK ..so might be worth giving them a call and finding your nearest one. Happy hunting
