Find Ancestors

On David Davies and Frances Moody's Wedding certificate it tells me David's father was Morgan Davies - Rank - Gent. David Davies profession was Surgeon. His residence at time of marriage was St George's Hanover Square, London, but he moved back to Aberystwyth where he had been born abt 1821 and his first child were born. Their daughter Mary Frances Sarah Davies (my ggrandmother) was born 21 Sept 1845 at 44 Portland St, Aberystwyth. I would like to find more of my Ancestors beyond Morgan. Also Mary's father's name was Matthew Moody and Mother Sarah Symes. I have found 4 Children, Mary being the eldest. I can't seem to go further on both these lines. Can you help please?

Thanks for your quick reply, Yes I did say David was born About 1821 but did not know for sure. I do not have a birth cert for him, only a marriage cert. Why I said that date was that I have some papers from University of Aberystwyth from Census, 7 June 1841, when he was Assistant Surgeon and it states he was 20 years old. (Ref:NLW 1841 Census /Reel) I hope this helps. Thank you. J

I was clarifying that you meant David....as opposed to Morgan

1841 census rounded down ages of over-15's.

But didn't you have an age for David from his marriage cert?

On the marriage cert for David and Frances Moody it just says 'Full age' for their ages. Marriage date was 17 Oct 1844, Hartpury , Gloucester Eng.

Isn't it infuriating when you go to the trouble and expense of getting the cert, only to find they haven't been specific about ages!

There is a marriage for Morgan Davies and Elizabeth Jenkins in Aberdare in 1807 on familysearch but no way of knowing if it is your couple.
