tried to find David Davies - just under 44,000 David Davies' Montgomeryshire on the census!!!

If only we had a less commom name to look up. I have been looking for months . I have all the family up to Margaret and Thomas. and would love to go further back thankyou for looking for me .

tell me about it - I have Williams in Wales!!!

I have also got Williams in caernarvon and farmers but have being able to get back to 1765. They farm was passed down the family and the great grand children were living there in 1911.

Hi Eirwen, have you tried to get their marriage certificate? Certficates are available from GRO after 1837.

There is also the possibility of parish records in the area they resided.

I have got a wealth of information on my Welsh side of the family from the archival records in Conwy and a copy of a marriage certificate which took place in 1833 which had the name of the parents on. I also found a certificate dated 1828 which unfortunately was not related, so you can go further back in time. These were church records i might add.
