Trying to find Davies

Trying to find Davies family from Mostyn, N. Wales. My Great Grandfather was William (George? not sure about this middle name) Davies born c 1871. I think he ws born in Mostyn but am not sure. I know that at some time in his life he lived at Garden Row, Mostyn. I don't know who either of his parents are, or if he had any siblings, but I do remember being told that I had a Great Uncle Jowarth (not sure of spelling) Davies living in that area until some time in the 1960's perhaps. I know Garden Row has been pulled down and bungalows now stand on the site, because I've been to look. (Thanks to the kind lady at Abakhan, Mostyn, who gave me this info.) At some stage William moved to Whiston in Lancashire. Whether this was directly from Mostyn or via somewhere else I also don't know. He married Sarah Jane Stott, b c 1871, also and the 1901 census has them living at 2 Shaw Lane, Whiston, Lancashire and William is recorded there as a coal miner. Their eldest daughter that I know of, Bessie b c1896, lived in Shaw Lane until her death in 1966. This area of Whiston was known as Little Wales because so many Welsh families settled there - a nice piece of history but the devil itself for sorting out which family was which. Bessie had 5 siblings that I know of, George, James, Edna (my grandmother), Benjamin (her twin) and Clifford. I'm pretty sure I remember being told of other children who died before I was born. It's possible that his mother was Elizabeth Davies and that his father died relatively young, as there is an entry on the 1891 census for a William Davies of the right age, living with an Elizabeth Jones, Wife, and Robert Jones, Head, and William there is recorded as stepson. There is also a Jennie Davies, stepdaughter, plus two boarders and a servant. All the people living in the house, which is in Cook Street, (which was directly off Shaw Lane) Whiston, were recorded as being born in Mostyn. However; as I say; that area was almost entirely peopled with Welsh families at that time. Can anyone shed any light at all on this for me please? Without William's father's name or his mother's maiden name, I don't know how to get any further back when there are so many thousands of Davies's in Wales.
