trying to find information on the davies family who were living at ' 1 The Fields', Ruyton XI Towns, Shropshire. On the 1901 census, there was an Edward and Mary Davies residing there. I don't know if they are connected to my davies family, but my nanna was born in 1904 at '1 The Fields'. Her parents were John and Mary Davies. They must have moved there just after the 1901 census had taken place. John and Mary had the following children: Beatrice May Davies b. 23/9/1904 (my nanna) (married Evan Thomas Williams) Margaret Ann Davies b. ? (married George Austin Williams) Rose b. ? (married Harry Bray) Emily b. ? (married Alf Bray) Elizabeth b.? (died 1968 in a fire at Shelton Residential home) Percy b.? (married Doris) Tom b.? (was the local postman) (married to Emma) I have been told that John and Mary Davies are buried at the United Reformed Chapel in Ruyton XI Towns. I have been to the graveyard and unfortunately there are no headstones in which to obtain their burial dates. With the chapel being a Non-Conformist, there are no records held at Shropshire Archives. Does anyone living in the area of Ruyton have any idea where the burial records are kept (possibly being looked after by a local parishoner). any info would be gratefully appreciated |
