My aunt, Kate Davies, was born in abt 1880 in Hanworth, Middlesex. (She was the second child of my Grandparents, Herbert David, and Mary Anne Davies. My Mother, Florence Daisy was the last of a long line, born in 1905 in Woolwich, (then in Kent). Aunt Kate married Frederick Handley and lived in India for many years. I believe they set up a shop in Calcutta, named Handleys. There may have been one in Karachi also. During the 1939-45 war our family received food parcels from Handleys in Australia, to where I believe some or all of the family moved. However there has been no contact since then, and I would be interested to hear if we still have relations from that branch of the family. Sadly my Mother died in 1970, aged only 65. |
