Member Since: May 2003 Posts: 10 Send Message	Tabitha DAVIES Trying to find the date and place of birth on the above who was born at Tredegar or thereabouts c1860. Tabitha was the oldest known child of Joseph DAVIES and Elizabeth (maiden name unknown), both of whom were also born in or around Tredegar. The family appear in the 1861 census for Uchlawrcoed (now part of Tredegar) as follows: Davies, Joseph, 22 Elizabeth, 21 Tabitha, 11 months Joseph was an iron heater (puddler?) and he and Elizabeth migrated to Hartlepool c1872 for him to work on the new iron and steel industry there. Their known children were: Tabitha (c1860) Elizabeth (c1862) David (c1865) Elias/Eleazer (c1868) Thomas (c1870) James (c1873) All bar James were born at Tredegar. I have information on Tabitha for the period after the migration to Hartlepool but would like to know where and when she was born and more details of her parents. The only other thing which is known for certain is that the family was "chapel" rather than "church".
