Find Ancestors

I am trying to find information on two ATHOL DAVIS entries, one b.1940, one b.1973, both in Sydney, Australia. I believe they may be my cousins but I am unable to find any conclusive information. I have seen a death notice for an Athol who may be the younger one.
Any information would be appreciated.

there are 10 death notices for the name Athol Davis unfortunately (only 6 with Athol as the first given name)

this one would sadly match with a birth year of 1973

you can request a lookup of the notice from that organization and it would likely have enough information for you to determine whether it is the person in question.

are you not in touch with the member of this website who has both Athols in her family tree ?

Thanks for your replies. Yes, I have sent numerous messages to this member over the past two years as I believe these are the Athols I am looking for, however the only reply I have received is that I am "rather demanding". I also have the death notice of Athol Stanley Davis and believe this is one of the Athols mentioned. There is very little information on the Death Notice. My Father's brother was Stanley, so you can see my frustration.

if you sent a standard 'please may I view your tree' message ... many people do find that demanding or intrusive

it does seem a fairly straightforward kind of request though, a shame.

have you searched to see whether that member has your father or Stanley in their tree ? or your father's parents for instance, or any other ancestor that would be shared, that would give you a good idea of the connection.

Yes, tried this too. No success. I thought if the Athols were listed it would stand to reason that the father, Stanley, would be there too. But not so. It is a very strange one!

Did not start our by sending the standard request to view her tree, as I too think this is a bit impersonal. Wasn't until I suddenly received an email from Genes saying I had permission to view it, that I send the request when I was unable to open it. I think I am just being teased!!!

I am wondering if anyone knows of a "twin register" for births in Sydney. My search for Athol Davis shows an Annabelle Davis also born in 1973 and she is mentioned in his death notice. I am wondering if maybe they were twins??
Willing to try anything at this stage.

The person who you tried to contact has Annabelle too she is born 1973 but Athol is born 1974 ? So if that is correct then they are not twins
