Cant see him on any incoming lists for ancestry but then its a common name - Edwards that is, obviously unlikely to have all the christian names shown.

I take it your tree is on ancestry with his birth, marriage and death details?

Marriage
Richard George Crichton Edwards & Cissie Ruth Horrell
Date
3 Apr 1954
Location
Catford

Did you get the marriage cert for his fathers name and occupation?

Well, someone got the wrong year - if its not your tree - here they are a year later:

Name: Richard G C Edwards
Spouse Surname: Horrell
Date of Registration: Apr-May-Jun 1955
Registration district: Lewisham
Registration county (inferred): Kent

She is noted as Houswife by trade so i would say that she is definitely female.
The address given is 30 Clarence Street Edinburgh

In that case before you can go any further I think you definitely need the marriage certificate which Heather posted earlier. That way you will have his father's name.

Will do, thanks Astra.

This is the ONLY place you should buy from online:

http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/

Tick the box that asks if you have the GRO ref. You have, its as I put above. Then the cert will cost you £7.
