Ok here it is, I wonder if this is them, as you said there was a
William Hill's......could there have been a second marriage for Elizabeth, although I cant find a death for George, or a Hills - Prosser marriage!!.......could Norah be Laura??

Could be a million miles off course but dates do seem to tie in!!

Maybe William Henry and Elizabeth went on to have a son, William....

Hi.Yes Eliza was married twice and had a son William, mum never mentioned any other family but tthose I have mentioned.William Hill's married a Dotty and after the 2nd ww lived in Thornton Heath.Sy.had no children.I did see that census and also wondered if Laura was Norah.Bessy Prosser's birthday was 9.12.1897 so if the Eliza Elizabeth Prosser year of registration 1897 .quarter of reg Jan-feb-mar is also 1897 that this is not her.I have marriage cert for Bessy Elizabeth Prosser age 23 married 4th September 1920 residence at 20.Park St.Islington.Father George.Witness P.C.Prosser.occupation Brass finisher.Mum used to visit when she was a child, her granny then called Hill or Hills in Goswell Road.Islington.mum born in 1921.No Grandad was around then.Philip Prosser mum's uncle was a jeweller.Hope this helps.Mum said there was a french connection somewhere in the family !I did apply for birth cert Elizabeth Prosser born Hackney 1B470 PAGE 416 1889 but birth date did not match.

Hi.Spoke to mum today.WILLIAM HILLS was younger than Laura.Bessy and Philip.so that census of Hills is out the window I think..

Hi Pamela

I'm still inclined to think the 1901 census could be the correct family....

If Eliza and William Henry did have a son William then he would have been younger than the other three, being born after the 1901 census was taken....

Bessy's ( Eliza Elizabeth ) birth could well have been registered in the first quater of 1888, as she was born in December the previous year, I have a couple in my tree where the same thing occured..

These are the only two births, for a William, I can see in that area....

Births Dec 1902
Hills William John Holborn 1b 690

Births Mar 1903
Hills William Charles R Holborn 1b 637
