Calling all Jamaican Edwards Since the recent brith of my Daughter I have started to compile a family tree, my ancestery is diverse with English, Spanish, Portuguese, German, Mexican and French. My wife's family (Edwards is the maiden name of her maternal grandmother) originated from Jamaica. Whilst I have had some assistance from my wife's family, they find such tree building with amused curiousity to state the least. I have had comments ranging from why bother to subtle jokes based around my chances of being the next Alex Haley. So the gauntlet has been thrown and I am determined to see what I can find out! Details so far, my wife is Deon Morgiana Grant (Born 1970 Wolverhampton), our daughter Charlotte Grace Coley (Born 2006 Walsall) My wifes immediate family details Brother Michael Wilberforce Grant Father Burchall (keith) Willberforce Grant (born around 1932 in Jamaica Clarendon area) Mother Yvonne Langley (born around 1945 in Jamaica Clarendon area) Grandparents Jeremia Grant (Unknown DOB but must be around 1905)- Father of Burchall (keith) Willberforce Grant Gertrude Grant (Unknown DOB but must be around 1905)- Mother of Burchall (keith) Willberforce Grant Percieval Langley Father of Yvonne Langley Esmeralda Edwards Mother of Yvonne Langley Keith had the following Uncles Claude Wright Ezikel O'Connor Keith had the following Siblings Louis, Silbert, Ida, Dorothy (Miss Nina),Winston, Lionne (Miss Anne), and Neville Yvonne had the following Aunts Laura, Mary, Pearlita Yvonne had the following Siblings Rupert, Dohldra, Sonny, Veronica, Neddy, Dalvis, Sharon, Neil and Derek. I am not sure which siblings of Yvonne were born in the UK if any, as far as I am aware all Keiths siblings were born in Jamaica - although Miss anne is now in the USA. Please help me rise to this challenge! David |
