Trying to find marriage record or info on Mary Jones b. circa 1853(nee Thomas) of Merthyr Tydfil or a place near there with a name like Pendarren. She and her husband Thomas Jones b. circa 1855 of Bagillt or village near there lived in Hanley from 1876/77 to 1899 (when he died) and Mary and some of her children can be seen in the 1901 Census at 18 Denbigh St. Stoke on Trent. The male members of the family began to use the name EDWARDS toward the end of the 19th century. Mary & Thomas had Abraham 1877; Thomas 1878; Susan; Margaret and Morgan. Susan married a Len Locker and they moved to Australia. Margaret married a Thomas Roberts who was killed in Flanders 1917. Morgan never married and died in South Elmsall 1937. All the males were coal miners. |
