Started research on my Great great grandfather John Evans 20 years ago and gave up. Now trying again but not much luck, Know he was a Tailor on 1841 census living in Jane Street St. George in the East, Middlesex with Ann (Holland) who he married in 1837
had several children Lydia, John, William, Bartholamew (my great grandfather b) 1845, and Henry. By 1851 Ann not mentioned and they now live in Back Road, By 1861 living in Gloucester Buildings Finsbury. (Ann obviously died ???)
I now know he was born in Colchester approx 1808, but assume this means I need to go to Chelmsford to look at Parish Records.
Do any of these names match yours.
