Can only find above on 1841.1851 and 1861 census. Supposed to have been born in Colchester Essex approx 1808. Wife Ann (Holland) but on 1841 census as Elizabeth???? Children who survived Lydia born 1840 |

Are you thinking he is alive at the time of marriage because it does not say deceased on the wedding certificate as that is not always the case and many marriage certifcates have father's names and occupations entered even though they are deceased at the time of marriage. I have found that many times. Irene |

Thanks Irene I did not know that, probably explains a problem on the other side of my family too, where I thought Father was still alive as Marriage Certificate stated Occupation etc. |
