Dawn.I'm similar, adopted in 1965 & turned out healthy, happy secure etc. I understand it would be great to let them (birth parents) know the decision they made was not a bad one. Have you obtained your adoption papers? They will tell you the detail of your adoption, I just got mine & apart from anything else the language used is fascinating, apparently my father was a "handsome, plausible man with the interest of the child at heart" that was in 1965. You will have to attend a counselling session with social services (we adopted pre 1976 all have to go through that) but I found them to be helpful & understanding. Good luck. Jane |
