If anyone could help me trace further back than the Henry Evans above I would be grateful.He is my GGGG Grandfather.
Henry Evans was born in Llanishen in roughly 1785.His children were Samuel,Rees,Richard and Ann.He lived at John St in Glamorgan on the 1861 census with his son Samuel and their family.
His son Samuel Evans married Ann who was born in 1823c and had the following children.Samuel was a licensed Victualler and born in Roath.

Nancy Evans Jan 24 1855
Thomas Evans Sept 7 1856
Rees Morgan Evans June 19th 1862
Eli Evans 1853
Harry Evans Aug 9-13 1859
Margaret Evans March 19th 1861-Jan 20th 1862

These dates are exact due to an old letter I have stating the births of all the children.

There is a Henry Evans on the IGI born in Lisvane which is just down the road. Married Ann Morgan in 1810 but the records are all submitted so they are not to be trusted.
Can't find anything else I'm afraid. A trip to the archives may be useful if you can.

Hi,

The Henry Evans above is the right one,I did manage to go to Cardiff records office last week for a couple of hours in the morning,but I had so much to look at I didnt get chance to trace him back any further and I'd arranged to meet someone at Llandaff cathedral for more information!I think when I can I will need to go back and spend a couple of days there!
Excuse my ignorance here but what is the IGI?
