Unfortunately, the 1911 census on line doesn't include Wales yet. Once that is available, you should have a lot more to go on -- it will give William's and Elizabeth's approx dates of birth and places of birth.

Was David 1912 the eldest child? I see Dylis was younger:

Births Sep 1916
Evans Dylis M (Thomas) Merthyr T. 11a 1619

Stanley would probably be the one in 1914 in Merthyr Tydfil?

You can look for the marriage at FreeBMD (where the above birth was found):

http://www.freebmd.org.uk - click the red Search

Assuming they married in Merthyr Tydfil, the only one marriage there after 1900 was in 1902. If David wasn't the eldest, that could be them.

Hm - do you know what registration district David was born in? There were a dozen David Evans-s born in 1912, and I don't know what district that town is in.

You eventually need to get their marriage certificate to learn ages and their fathers' names, in order to go back farther. Both names are just too common to identify them anywhere without that info, and even then ...

Do you have an idea of when and where they married? Even of the other children's approx dates of birth?

Have you tried searching for the births and marriage at FreeBMD? The URL for the site is above.

Do that, and if you can identify the births, to get the right dates and places, you may be able to deduce which marriage is them. You would search for a marriage with their two names, in the registration district where the eldest child was born, within a few years before that birth.

You may need to wait for the 1911 census to get the spouses' ages and places of birth, if you can't identify a marriage. Then you might be able to find them in the 1901 census, to get their parents' names, and then you might have to hit-and-miss on a couple of marriage certificates to get matching fathers.

I don't suppose either William or Elizabeth has a middle name on David's birth cert? That would certainly help, if so.

The 1891 shows several William Evans-s of around the right age born in Maesteg, mainly living in Cwmdu, Glamorgan. Ditto for Elizabeth Thomas-s. You see why you need to be able to narrow the search by having a father's name and more exact age.

Oh yeah. You're most welcome, of course.
