On the Corwen parish Records Thomas Evans born 16 Apr 1732 shows parents as Robert David & Margaret Davies -- does this mean that David changes to Evans? I am confused can anyone help please

On reading this info it looks like the father was Robert David Evans and his mother was Margaret ( nee Davies)

Have you tried googling,,welsh naming,,lots of informative sites come up.

But to get the surname Evan/s from David ap Robert would have been way off I would have thought.
Evan(anglicised, as there is no V in the welsh alphabet) derives from Ifan,Ianto,Ieuan, etc.

I would have thought that Davies or Roberts would have been more likely.

The welsh for David is Daffydd,Dewi etc, not Evan.
Robert I dont know the welsh for.
