My friend's birth mother gave her up for adoption and signed to this effect in Liverpool 1937 Her name was Mary Evans formerly Gibson. My friend has 5 daughters who have their own families now. She only discovered she was adopted when her adoptive mother died. Her daughters have tried to find her and traveled to Liverpool. This leaves so many unanswered questions for them all. |

Adoption is a very personnal matter, please don't put your friend's name or any names of living people on here for the whole world to see |

Adoptees and birth relatives can register their details on the Adoption Contact Register at the General Register Office, Southport.(Details on their website). Also, try NORCAP. |

Thanks for replying Norma, glad your friend is registering with NORCAP, and please don't forget about the Adoption Contact Register too, as it's where I believe people searching for adoptees/birth families will eventually be directed to, and sounds to me like the best place to be! x |
