jax - they=GRO do not give ages before 1866 is correct, but the GRO is not the only place you can get a BMD cert. One can also get one from the local rego office, and some local ROs have their indices online, and the entry details differ from the GRO's. As an example consider the following 4 GRO index entries: |

Thats interesting so there were no deaths of a child called John Evans between 1841 and 1851 apart from the one in 1845 and he was only 1 unless he did'nt die in Bath |

jax - technically, there was a later death of a 1 y.o. John Evans in 1848. The other 5 John Evans 1841-51 deaths were all adults. Actually, BathBMD indexes the records now held at Bath rego office. These do include all the old Bath RD records - also the indices are complete thru 2000. |
