I'm 16 and i've just started doing my family tree. I've never done it before and i'm not quite sure how to do it. I have found out some names of people in my family but I don't know how I am related to them or how to find out. Is there anyone that is able to help or give me some tips at all?.

I'll agree with Jan.

The best way to start is to talk to your parents and relatives and start your tree from there. When you have that information it is easier to start looking for older relatives.

Big thing to remember is always work from the present backwards.

Good luck and hope you find it fun and interesting like most of us.

Which part of the country are yout family from ? I am researching my Evans family who originate from Radnorshire. Sometimes we dig up information on people that aren't in our family and it's useful to know if people are looking in same area

wel i've managed to find out that my nan- edith evan and her brothers william arther and ernie( if thats his real name) are from england we think in london but their parents thomas and harriot are from wales somewhere we're not sure.
