In my experience dont get too carried away with the 'i' or 'e' thing. I have found my Grt GF with and without the 'i' (he shouldnt have one). And also changing between his first and second name on Census'. Remember that the people who filled in the census forms may have just guessed at the spellings of their lodgers/servants, also if you are going by transcribed data errors are common. |
