Christine in Herts Report 21 May 2004 23:49

I have a John STRATFORD, b c 1817 in Tingewick, Bucks, the son of Ann STRATFORD, servant. This much is known because he was baptised in August 1820 and was thought to be about three years old at the time - his mother's residence was unkown by then. There don't seem to be any other Stratfords in Tingewick's history. In January 1859 he is recorded, by Elizabeth STRATFORD nee GARDNER (the mother), as the father of Patience STRATFORD - in Wigginton, Oxon. He is described as an agricultural labourer. Elizabeth was born 1826-7 in Swalcliffe, Oxon (per the 1881 census). If anyone has any other STRATFORD info which could give him a bit of a life, I should be very grateful. It would also be helpful to get some more info about Elizabeth GARDNER. thanks Christine
