Member Since: December 2003 Posts: 12 Send Message	Trying to trace any descendants or relatives of Robert Gardiner (Gardener) who took the first railway engine out to India in the 1840's/50's for the Gwaekwar of Barodor. He married an Australian, Christian name not known at present, but surname was Charteris, who captained a cargo ship which plied between Melbourne, Australia and Calcutta. He had several children, of whom my grandmother was the middle child - Rebecca. She married Charles Gordon States in Bombay in 1904.
