Trying to find Gibbs

I'm trying to find my mother's real maiden name. On my birth certificate it lists her as SHIRLEY ANN FARBROTHER late GIBBS formerly LEAHY. Farbrother was a name she went under when she was with my father, they were never married, so Farbrother has no connection. I've always believed her maiden name was Leahy, but can find no record of her under this name. So i'm led to believe that maybe her maiden name was Gibbs. Born 1936/1937 possibly in the Bristol area. Last heard of living in Keyhnsham nr Bristol. The address on my birth certificate is in Bishopston, Bristol. Any light shed on this would be a great help. |
