Find Ancestors

My great grandad was John Henry Green whom married Ada Davies and had a daughter Beatrice Mamie Green, John henry whom died before he turned one. I have received loads of information dating back centuries for Ada Davies which has been fantastic but still need information on John Henry Green. The records in the 1900 only show where he was born but I would like to know his birth mothers name then I might actually get somewhere. Any information greatly appreciated.

This is what i know John henry green and ada davies and yes marriage is 1921 thats right. got that information. beatrice mamie green my gran was born was born 1923 died 1991 bless her brother john henry green born 1927 died 1928, William green born 1932 and Harriet green sister. Before I purchased a birth certificate I wanted to make sure that I had the right John Henry Green and yes he was born in blackburn c1900 died 1971. I do think you have got the right records for me.

Yes trying to find information on John henry green's birth and his parents. Got no idea what is dad or mum where called. It's so frustrating. It's costing a fortune ordering birth certificates. Thanks again for help received.

I tried to follow the other two in the workhouse -
Henry Green b.1820 Cheadle, Staffs
& Hannah Green b.1845 Liverpool, Lancs
but can't tie them in with Harriet!

Did it not have his fathers name on his marriage cert to Ada??

Received My Great Grandads John Henry Green Marriage Certificate this week to Ada Davies from 1921. Only had Ada Davies father's name on the Certificate so does that mean that john Henry Green's Father didnt attend or that he never knew whom his Father was.

I think I've found a record for one of my relatives. I paid to have a look at the 1911 census and what a rip off, but I put in my great grandads name John Henry Green born 1900 living in blackburn workhouse in 1901 and in 1911 he is 11 eleven and has an older brother called Herbert Green whom is aged 15 so I checked on ancestry and it came up with a record for 1896 but it was blank no information so checked the original document and it said a load of names and then workhouse so im now assuming that he was in the same workhouse as john henry Green but in a different section. I only searched the 1911 census for times. It was worth it but I cant do that on a regular basis not unless ive got concrete evidence of whom im searching.

I was just wondering if anyone new the answer to what I wrote about my great grandad John Hnery green having a brother called herbert green cause ive had no response from anyone.

Does anyone have any insight about the Blackburn Workhouse Haslingden Road, Lancashire. Would be really good if I knew what used to happen unless this herbert green isnt connected and that ive got the wrong John Henry Green.

Have you tried googling for the workhouse? If there are any records they would probably be at the Lancashire Records Office.
