Hi All,

I am looking for any information on my great great aunt, Elizabeth Green born Brancepeth Colliery, County Durham, England in 1881. She had brothers Thomas Henry (my great grandfather), John James, Mark and sister Eliza.

This is all the information I have up to the 1901 census plus I believe she may have married a George Foster in 1905 (A, M, J.). I find it very difficult to research any female siblings due to the name changes but she may have named any children after her brothers and sisters. I wondered if the 1911 census may help?

Many thanks in advance,

Russ

This could be the death of George but you will need the marriage certificate to confirm that it is indeed the correct marriage and his age.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate your replies.

So if I am reading this correctly, it is possible Elizabeth married George Foster in 1905 but he died in 1909 and the only way to verify this is to apply for the marriage certificate. However, who she may have married after George is a mystery.

You'e got it Russell.
There is no point in looking for a second marriage unless you can verify the first. It may not be the correct Elizabeth Green who married George Foster.
Spend £7 at the GRO for the marriage cert and when you have the details from it then come back to us and we can research further for you. You can put a checking reference on it. Her father's name will do and if it is not the correct one they will only charge you £4 I think. Someone will correct me if I am wrong.
