i am trying ti trace my fathers ancestors my grandparents names were herbert and ellen green they lived in leeds got married at st annes cathedral in leeds in 1937 i know from the marriage certificate that herberts father was called james green and he was retired on marriage certificate herbert and ellen had 2 sons my dad ray and david my uncle am at a dead end dont know if grandad had ant brothers or sisters and dont know where they originally came from have looked at 1911 census but cant find james green

Hi Christine. If you have the marriage certificate for Herbert it should give his age. this should help to obtain his registry of birth, and a copy of that certificate will give both parents and start the process off. Ethel.
