trying to find birth details for my grandfathers sister d.o.b about1905 but not sure. Her name is bertha green, her fathers name was james green and her mothers name was martha green formerly pretty think they may of come from birmingham and settled here in leeds yorkshire

yes ive looked on 1911 census can find martha and herbert green but no one else it says she had 3 living children but only one child in house found a bertha green living in ? a home in knaresborough but dont know if its definatly her

thought this was definatly my ancestors but thought jos green may have been james as manuscript was hard to read until i studied it up close

Herbert would have been aged 4 on 1911 as the census was taken on April 2nd and his 5th birthday was in the May.

So that one has to be him.

I would try this birth to eliminate it if nothing else,but seems the most likely for her(in my opinion)

They were in Hunslet reg district in 1901 if correct family, which seems very likely with a sister called Bertha for Martha,and then Leeds in 1911.
No births in Leeds for Bertha,but this in Hunslet.

I expect that the Jos Green in 1901 would be Jas Green on image.
James is often abbreviated to Jas on census

many thanks it would be great if you could find the missing green for me .I have just recently been in contact with my uncle and it was him that told me about his aunt bertha and the other brother but doesnt have any other info as apparently my grandfather refused to talk about his father and brother.

The only way you will find out if it is Bertha born 1903 in Hunslet reg district is to buy the cert.
