I am confused, am I missing something obvious here or is it possible that the certificate has been incorrectly copied-something Id never considered happening till this occurred.

I would ring the place i got the cert from & see what they say

I was thinking of doing that just didnt want to have missed something obvious before I did

They might have copied the dads name to where the son name should has gone by accident

Do you have any of the other childens B/C to see if the parents details match

no I haven't any other birth certificates for siblings

Then i would definitely ring them & if that what has happened then they should send you another one...that correct hopefully :o))

have contacted registrar's office and it was a typing error!
Being sent correct one and want incorrect one back

Phew thats good & at least while you are waiting apart from his name the rest is correct
