Hi I am trying to find out about my gt gt grandparents - who I believe is a William Green born in the Netherlands 1837 if my research is correct, and I am guessing, he married a Caroline Waters in July 1867 at Old Church, Saint Pancras, London. I know they had one daughter, my grandma's mother Rosina who married John Stringer. If any one knows anything more would love to hear from you. Thanks in advance Mary

Mary

Have you bought the Marriage cert? That should give you his Fathers name and occupation.

Certs cost £7

Hi,

On the census it does say Goes which is a place in Zeeland, Netherlands, but then right next to it it says Ireland!

The actual handwritten extract says Zeeland though, so probably a transcript error.

Thanks again Teresa and you too David - that will give me something to go on for tomorrow - too hot here in Spain to delve tonight.
Much appreciate your help
