I am trying to find more information about my great grandmother, Mary Ann Greenwood .
She was born in Dublin, Ireland in about 1834. Her father was a cordwainer (worker in leather goods).
She married Anthony Alderson, a stonemason from Co. Durham, in 1862 and had five children, one of whom, Esther, is my grandmother.
I would really like to get further back in Ireland, but this is proving difficult as many records were destoyed in a fire over there.
