Find Ancestors

I am trying to trace who my Gr Gt Grandmother's parents were.
Caroline Greenwood was born approx 1853. I cannot find any record of her birth but I think it would have been in Holbeck, Leeds. She had one Daughter my Gt Grandma Ruth Alice. Caroline was unmarried when she had Ruth Alice. Years later Caroline married William Booth (widower) on Ruth Alices wedding cert it says that William Booth was her Father. I am not sure if he was or not, She may just have used his name but I think that he could have really been her Father. (another mystery)
I would really like to know though who Carolines parents were. Any help appreciated. Thank you

Thank you very much. I am not sure now if William was Ruth Alices Father.
Very confused. It does say he is her Father on Ruth Alices marriage cert, but I suppose she may just have called him Dad. It could be that Caroline being the Housekeeper had a baby to William or it could be that she already had Ruth Alice and went to work for him taking the baby with her.
Curiosity is getting the better of me and I would love to know who Carolines parents were. I thnk I might have to try the birth cert from 1852.
