I am trying to find information on Captain Thomas Greenwood of Lancaster. He was awarded a cup by Lloyds Register in 1810 for his services in voyages to the West Indies and fighting off a French Corvette. I don't know when he was born, but by inference, it must have been between roughly 1760 and 1780 as by 1810 he was a ship's Captain and had travelled many times to the West Indies. The next descendant about whom I have any information is Mary Greenwood, born in Hoxton, London in 1822, she was either his daughter or grand-daughter. She married Thomas William Burr between 1841 and 1848. |
