If you go to freebmd you will find the marriage in Lambeth 1905.

Thank you for both replies - the effort is really appreciated. We were aware of the marriage and census information kindly supplied, but the trail is otherwise cold. But keep on digging, please!
Some relation might appear if we are lucky, of either Mary or her husband Henry Withers.
We wondered if they had a child but can find no record of one, for instance, but someone with the Withers name and a tree might happen to be descended from the marriage.
Or Mary might have had siblings.. . etc

If you have the marriage cert..are there no clues in the names of witnesses?

The marriage cert no help as witnesses were parents from either side. One day someone whose tree one of these two feature in may turn up - I live in hope.
