Trying to find information on Charles Dawes Hall, born circa 1845 Hartlepool, England, and his family. He migrated to Australia before 1880, when he married Jane Scammell. I know about his descendants but not siblings, parents or other ancestors. Father believed to be William Kent Hall; mother's name not known. |

You should consider buying the birth certificate as this looks like the only way you could find his mother's name and maiden name. |

Thanks, folks. I have now purchased the birth certificate of Charles Daws Hall, born 11 Feb 1846. It shows father as William Kerrison Hall and mother as Sarah Hassock (I believe - they appear to have used a long s). However, I can't find birth or marriage for them, so any further help would be great. The census record shown by Glitter Baby looks right, even though the father is shown as William R - K could easily be transcribed as R. I'm pretty sure father and son but not mother came to Australia in 1853, so widower would be right too. William is shown as 52 years of age when he died in 1870, so 33 in 1851 is perfect. |
