I am trying to find some information about an Edward Hall, who was assistant curate at the "temporary church of St Thomas", Billericay, Essex. He conducted the wedding of my gr grandparents and I think he may have been related to the bride. I wrote to the diocese but have had no response. Can anyone point me in the right direction please? I have looked at the 1861 census but not come up with anyone who looks likely.

Hi Heather,
What was the name of your Gr. Grandparents and when did they marry ?

They were Arthur Markham and Charlotte Hall married 5th September 1882; I have their marriage certificate. I just want to know about this Edward Hall. I just re-looked at the 1881 census (made a mistake with the date in my first message!). There are loads of Edward Halls and it doesn't help that I've no idea whether he was a cousin or uncle or what, so no idea of his age. I can't find any clergymen though. I feel sure that churches must have records of their clergy.

HiHeather,
how old was Charlotte on the marriage cert--and what was her fathers name and occupation ?
All the best

Hi Heather
How I wish I was home with all my records, the surname HALL in my tree is on my late Grandmother's side around the Brickfields in Cranham Essex not far from Billericay and one of their addresses way back was Billericay if I recall rightly. I know that I have a Charlotte Hall in my lot, not sure if her parents were Mary/marieann & Robert now. I also know one of my Hall females married a Carson who was a bell ringer or something sim at Cranham All Saints Church. Oh how I wish I was at home, but won't be there until late April so does any of this ring any bells?
