And again! Alison, why is Ann's birth year so wide? Is it that the marriage cert says "of age"? If you have her marriage cert, who are the witnesses? Might offer a clue to other family members. |

That seems a good option to me. Re. witnesses - I would just check if there is a female witness who might be a married sister of either person. This has happened to me and although a bit complicated did confirm I had the right family. |

This one is interesting. I decided to search for Jonathan as it is a little less common than Ann, and came up with this. I know it is Pittington, but the names we know of match with your Shadwell family, and what is more the mother is Isabella which strongly suggests they are the same. As Pittington comes under Sherburn it is quite possible. And it is the only Jonathan I can find in Durham! |
