Missing Hall children St Albans, Hertfordshire

Member Since: July 2008 Posts: 211 Send Message	The 1911 census states that Alfred John Hall and Elizabeth (Herridge) had 11 children but only 9 have been identified by those researching this family. I have checked birth/death records and then familysearch but all possibles were born to other couples or had no entry in FS. The couple married in 1877 (when she would have been 20ys old) The chidlren were born between 1878 and 1899, by which time she would have been 42. Does anyone have any access to other parish records that might find these children please? All the children were born in the parish of St Stephen. There are 'gaps': 1882-1886' 1891 - 1896 and 1896 -1899. Hopefully Heather

Member Since: July 2008 Posts: 211 Send Message	So sorry, the children I do have are: William 1878 (no baptismal record) Ada Elizabeth 1879 Charlotte Emily aka Emily 1882 Ellen 1886 (no baptismal record) Arthur 1888 George 1891 Charlotte Elizabeth aka Elizabeth 1896 - very wierd having two living Charlottes! Annie Jane 1899 Rose Alice 1899. All of these can be verified in censuses and most in parish records as well. There are plenty of other Hall births, but they would have had to have died as well. I thought I'd found some but parish records placed them with different parents, except Bertha, who doesn't appear in the records.

Member Since: July 2008 Posts: 211 Send Message	PS. Ginny, I have no intention of buying certs. If I don't find them by other means it will have to remain a mystery. Although I'm very interested in this over all family, these are not direct ancestors; they are the family of one of my gr grandmother's brothers. There are two others at least working on this branch, who are direct descendents but they have no names to put to these missing kids as yet either.

Member Since: April 2005 Posts: 3,133 Send Message	I did a search on freeBMD for deaths between 1881 - 1901 and there are about 8 (ish) infant deaths. Some can be discounted as they go over census dates. Perhaps PR's could be looked at for the other names to find the parents.

Member Since: February 2006 Posts: 32 Send Message	I remember an Alf Hall from Eaton Bray, Beds, which is probably 10/15 miles from St. Albans. He would be in his 70,s if he is still living. Probably not what you are after, but I thought I'd share that with you!
