I am trying to trace my grandfather's family. My grandfather was John Lee Hewitt and according to his birth certificate his father was William Hewitt and his mother was Mary Jane Barron. I have no other information except that my great grandmother married Peter Hall (born 1871 at Crook, Co Durham) in 1894 and they went on to have four children together: Willie (or William) b 1895, Norman b 1890, Annie b 1904 and Eveline b 1906. The family have connections with County Durham especially the Colliery Row, Middle Rainton, Dragonville, Houghton-le-Spring, Sherburn and Sherburn Hill areas Family Information: Willie never married and remained in County Durham for most of his life - he died in 1976. Norman married Elizabeth Jane Ord and had a daughter Freda. Freda married a member of the Canadian armed forces either during or after WWII and the whole family emigrated to Canada. Annie died young in the 1920's. Eveline married George Cook from Shotton, Co Durham and they went to live in Oxfordshire to be near their married daughter Doreen. Information of any of the above would be greatly appreciated.
