He was married to Carol Smith (Dunfermline, Fife) for approx 18 months between 1974 and 1976 and he was an Engineer in the Royal Navy during this time. I reckon he is probably about 48 years old now and he is originally from Sheffield. If Richard or anyone who knows of him sees this message, please leave a message on the board.
