My ancestor Samuel Harris seems to disappear from records around 1844 when my GtGrandfather, Henry Harris, was born. Samuel had 4 children with Mary Ann Gritt - he was a Gypsy chimney sweep - Mary married Joseph Rawlings in 1848 and had more children.
Have been unable to find death certificate for Samuel; can't find records that he was transported; so don't know what happened to him. He might have gone off and used another name, who knows?
