Member Since: March 2009 Posts: 2 Send Message	I'm trying to find further information about my maternal Grandmother - Louisa Harris. I know she was born in 1906 and in 1911 she was living with her father George, mother Beatrice and sister Leana, Brother George on the Bohemia Estate in Eastwood Essex. However, despite numerous searches i cannot locate a birth certificate for her. I would really love to have some more information about Louisa and her mother Beatrice.

	How long had her parents been married by 1911? Did you check the original transcript for the 1911 as well? (I have one couple who never married and the enumerator has guesstimated the number of years ...) Jill

	these could be her parents maybe? If they are it rules out the possibility of Louisa being illegitimate ... Ham 4a 429 If you can't narrow it down too well you could write to the GRO and ask for a 3 year search - giving them all the details you know. It costs a little more and takes a bit longer but it could save you sending off for 3 or 4 certs before you get the right one! Jill

Member Since: March 2009 Posts: 2 Send Message	Hi Thanks Sorry didn't get back sooner; just getting the hang of this site. Info from the 1911 census states that Beatrice and George were married for 4 years but Louisa was aged 5 at the time (so guess they married after she was born). However, now wondering about the marriage info you have kindly provided and think that might be worth looking into - maybe the 1911 census info is misleading. Could you signpost me in the right direction for looking at the marriage record? Thanks for the suggestion of writing to the GRO - wasn't aware that you could do that, I think I'll give it a try.
