My father in law James Harris, born 1906, changed his name on the battlefield in France in 1942 to James Anthony D'Arcy Carrington. We do not know why and cannot get any further back than his army records. My mother in law used to say that he had a sister who lived in Blackpool who ran a riding school and we know at one time that he lived in Lytham St. Annes. My brother in law has searched family records office but can find no details about him. Any help would be appreciated.
