Derek Harris (Auckland N. Z.) Have been trying to find out my Grandfather, ALFRED ROWLAND HARRIS place and date of birth for about 3 years now and just cant find it anywhere. (Starting to wonder if he even existed!!!) I have managed,however,to obtain a marriage cert, from that I see he was born in 1867(no date given) he married Alice Maud Turner. I also know he spent most of his working life in the printing industry as Manager of several London newspapers. The latter part of his life he lived in Whitstable, Kent where I was born. My father was Lawrence Llewellyn Patrick Harris who was one of 6 children that Alfred and Alice had. I also know my Grandfather prefered to be known as A.Rowland Harris. Strangely I can't even locate him on the 1881 Census. From the Marriage cert, I see his father was William Can anyone help me Please |
